Lent Reflections, Mar. 14, 2016

Jesus says in today’s Gospel, “You judge by human standards; I judge no one.” These words are echoed in Pope Francis’s latest book, “The Name of God is Mercy.” In it he says, “To follow the way of the Lord, the Church is called on to pour its mercy over all who recognize themselves as sinners, who assume responsibility for the evil they have committed, and feel in need of forgiveness. The Church does not exist to condemn people but to bring about an encounter with the visceral love of God’s mercy.”
