Thoughts on Pope Leo’s Encyclical

BOSTON, June 3, 2026: In a Boston news station’s coverage of Pope Leo’s encyclical, Voice of the Faithful was asked to respond to his apology for the Church’s involvement in slavery.

Donna B. Doucette, retired Executive Director and current trustee for VOTF, responded to WGBH’s Trajan Warren: “It is important as a step for the institutional church to begin its effort to regain, especially in the United States, its ability to speak to moral issues coherently.”
