Lent Reflections: Mar. 21, 2016

From today’s Gospel: “Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil made from genuine aromatic nard and anointed the feet of Jesus …”

Mary’s gift to Jesus was an expensive one, one not in keeping with the frugal life that the followers of Jesus espoused. However, He knew Mary and respected her need to do something for him. We can imagine that she was also aware of what was soon to happen. What gift can we give to Jesus today in our thoughts, words, and deeds? Whatever we do to the least of our brothers or sisters that we do unto Him.
