Callard Named Voice of the Faithful Development Coordinator

NEWTON, Mass., May 6, 2011 – Sara Callard of Quincy has been named development coordinator for Voice of the Faithful, the 35,000-strong worldwide organization of Roman Catholics working to support survivors of clergy sexual abuse, support priests of integrity and reform governance and guidance of the Church to include a greater voice for non-ordained faithful.

Callard has more than a decade of fundraising experience and will be coordinating VOTF’s major donor efforts, direct mail appeals, e-mail solicitations and grant writing.

Callard comes to VOTF after working as a development consultant to clients including Father Bills & MainSpring, which helps the homeless in Greater Boston. She served as development director at Forbes House Museum, Milton, and Neighborhood House Charter School, Dorchester, and as principal gifts development associate at Boston University. Before embarking on her development career, she was a business consultant and reporter.

Callard is a member of Women in Development of Greater Boston. She has served as a board member and president of Dot Art (the Dorchester Center for Visual Arts). As an artist, Callard works in the “alla prima” method and exhibits her work in juried art exhibitions on the South Shore.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and master’s degree in business administration from Boston University’s School of Management.
