The Elections
Committee notified the Board of Trustees that the elections
process
was successful and complied with the Board’s charge
to conduct an election with integrity.
In total, 1770 members completed ballots, an 11% increase
over last year.
Nearly 175 members submitted optional comments on their
ballot. Of these, 46 expressed high satisfaction with
the electronic voting mechanism, and only 7 expressed
dissatisfaction with it.
The committee also directs members to the VOTF website
(www.votf.org VOTF Election 2006, Election Information)
to review the message from the Nominating Committee regarding
the outcome of the nominations process about which many
members submitted comments on their ballots.
The Elections Committee would like to thank Executive
Director Ray Joyce and the members of the VOTF staff
who worked tirelessly to make sure members had the maximum
opportunity to vote. We also thank all members who voted
in this important election. We will prepare a report
to the Board of Trustees on the lessons learned from
this election process and recommendations for improving
the next election.
Respectfully,
Bill Casey, chair (Alexandria, Virginia)
Clare Gerber (Rochester, New York)
Anne Hart (Falmouth, Massachusetts)
Mary Heins (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Linda Mains (Seattle, Washington)
