Young Adults VOTF Mission Statement

The mission of the Young Adults VOTF is, "To build a Church that is interesting, adult, and real, that serves the world and feeds the soul."

We Young Adults of VOTF are a group of dedicated Catholics who believe strongly in our tradition and faith. We are made up of all walks of life and are an integral part of the changing face of the Church. We represent the post-Vatican II generation and have much to offer our Church.

Prayer and spiritual reflection on the current crisis in our Church are a large part of who we are. We stand beside our sisters and brothers who have been wounded by our Church. We have stood by the victims by joining them as a group at the VOTF National Conference in Boston on July 20, 2002, and we have "walked the mile" with these survivors - from the Conference floor to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. We support our dedicated clergy, who have fought tirelessly to eradicate the abuse of power and have the determination to work with the Church to change it from within.

In support of our priests of integrity and to enable dialogue between lay young Catholics and priests, we are planning a local Boston-area dinner. We will keep you apprised of our planning for this event and of ways in which the essence of this event — reaching out to our priests — can be duplicated by young adults all over America and the world.
