VOTF Statement Regarding
Bishop Daniel Reilly's Withdrawal
of SNAP Subpoena

Newton, Mass. - September 23, 2002 Voice of the Faithful is pleased that Bishop Daniel Reilly has withdrawn the request for records from the Survivor's Network of Those Abused by Priests. However, it is unfortunate that a spokesman for the diocese indicated that they can't guarantee a similar request won't ever be made in the future. This still leaves the door open to adopting a dangerous policy capable of inflicting additional pain on victims and survivors of clergy sexual abuse.

About Voice of the Faithful

Its goals are to support victim/survivors of abuse, support priests of integrity, and shape structural change within the Catholic Church. VOTF's supporting membership exceeds 25,000 registered individuals from more than 40 U.S. states and 21 countries.
