FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Voice of the Faithful (VOTF) Anticipates Meeting with Cardinal Law
NCCF Re-evalutes Timeframe for Distribution of Voice of Compassion-Boston Fund

Newton, MA, Nov. 1, 2002 - Voice of the Faithful (VOTF) has learned that the National Catholic Community Foundation (NCCF) is re-evaluating the timeframe for a response to its letter offering the Voice of Compassion Fund-Boston’s gift of $56,000 to the Archdiocese of Boston. This reevaluation is based on the Archdiocese of Boston’s October 29th statement released at the conclusion of its meeting with members of VOTF (please see: "Voice of the Faithful Announces Details of Its Third Meeting With the Archdiocese of Boston" press release)

The Archdiocese of Boston's statement said, “Bishop Edyvean informed those present that His Eminence Cardinal Law would like to schedule a meeting with representatives of Voice of the Faithful. The Cardinal desires to have this meeting even before the ongoing conversations are concluded.”

Commented Steve Krueger, interim executive director of Voice of the Faithful, “We're very mindful that the donors to the Voice of Compassion-Boston Fund want their monies to go to the charities that are supported by the Cardinal’s Appeal. VOTF anticipates that opening a meaningful dialogue with the Cardinal will be a major step towards ensuring that donors’ wishes will be honored and fulfilled.”
