NATIONAL SECRETARY GAILE POHLHAUS BRINGS LETTER THAT DISCUSSES CONCERNS ABOUT THE REVIEW OF THE CHARTER FOR THE PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

WHAT: Voice of the Faithful’s National Secretary Gaile Pohlhaus will deliver a letter to the U.S. Catholic Bishops conference in Chicago, IL.

WHO: Voice of the Faithful National Secretary Gaile Pohlhaus

WHY: Voice of the Faithful National Secretary Gaile Pohlhaus will deliver a letter from Voice of the Faithful president James E. Post to Bishop William Skylstad, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, detailing the organization’s concerns regarding the process for review of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The letter mentions the organization of lay Catholics concerns that the Charter will be weakened, and discusses the recommendations that Voice of the Faithful made in January to strengthen the Charter’s provisions. The organization of lay Catholics also will call on the Bishops for more transparency around the Charter, both in its content and the process used for its approval.
