Voice of the Faithful Calls Archdiocesan Sale “Good
May 24, 2007 - “The sale of the Lake Street property by the Archdiocese
of Boston seems to be an act of good stewardship, one that will benefit
Catholic community of Boston”, said Robert Ott, Chair of the Boston
Area Council of Voice of the Faithful. “The additional funds will
certainly benefit the archdiocese while the new campus will strengthen
Boston College. The anticipated move of the Weston Jesuit School of Theology
to the Lake Street campus should enhance the libraries and offerings
of both St. John’s Seminary and Weston as well as strengthen the
Boston College theology programs. It seems like a ‘Win-Win’ situation.
We look forward to the continued openness of Cardinal Sean by keeping
concerned Catholics informed about his plans to address such pressing
issues as the priests’ unfounded pension fund.”
