Problem
Diocese of Manchester New Hampshire: The State audits the Diocese on its practices to protect children. Last Friday the Attorney General for the State of New Hampshire released her findings from the second in a series of four audits of the Diocese. This audit is part of a 2002 plea agreement to avoid criminal charges over the diocese’s failure to protect children by moving sexually abusive priests from parish to parish. The Attorney General said there has been significant progress from last year however she still has concerns about the reliance on self-reporting by parishes, schools and camps and the handling of personnel when allegations are made. Attorney General Kelly also cited concerns about the “tone at the top." Read more at the Concord Monitor Online and watch news brief at Boston.com.
